I didn't open Gallery Thirteen because it seemed like a good idea. I opened it because I needed a space where art could be honest.

I'm Marty. I'm a painter. I work from the studio at the back of this gallery every day. My work is rooted in alchemy — the transformation of suffering into hope. Inner landscapes and Ovalism figures that try to make visible what's usually kept inside.

This gallery exists because I believe art should connect, challenge and heal. Not just decorate.
